I finally was able to talk to somebody at Sewell. I still didn't quite get what they meant by the 09+ wire harness is smaller, if there are more wires because of the turn signal shouldn't it be bigger instead? If the connector is smaller or different, then that's another story. They said they couldnt be sure when they'll come out with a solution, like how to make it plug and play instead of trying to rewire everything. I guess that's not their top priority right now since they are working on the 11 headlights for our friends here. Hopefully, once they're done with that, they'll jump on the mirrors next. I know quite a few guys here are interested as well, let's cross our fingers.

I took them to my mechanic and he installed them without a hitch. It's been more than a year now and theys still work fine. Sorry I don't have the write-up since I didn't do it myself.

 

^ ^ so if i buy the 09 side mirrors from Sewell, i'll just have to splice my old harness and connect to the new ones? that being said, i don't need to buy anything else other than the mirrors from Sewell? i am really serious abput the swap so please let me know.

Yep, nothing else since the wire harnesses are included already. Just make sure if your car is equipped with auto tilt feature or not so you can choose the correct ones from Sewell. You'll love them, I do anyway.

Too bad I have the auto tilt and auto dim mirrors, which cost $880 on Sewell for conversion set.

 

Bummer! But you can still get the ones without those features if you don't care about them, it's just a matter of wiring them or not, that will save you quite a bit of money for some other mods.

 

Just for clarification, you have to cut off the harness of your old side mirrors to be used with the new ones. And since my old car doesn't have side mirror blinkers, how did you connect those?

Is that where the slicing of the wire and connecting them to wires that run near the door comes in?

I do have some questions...

My car has heated mirrors, that I know. but how do I know if I have dimming mirrors?
Also, mine dont tilt down when in reverse...

OP, I have the JDM side mirrors w/ built in turnsignals. I got the for cheap. Way cheaper then Nigels price. I got mine off ebay for $80 including shipping.

btw I DO have AFS, does that mean I also have auto dimming ?

I dont mind loosing the auto dimming feature though
