Everyone,
I have a question, i have done some research and I am still confused. I just dont understand the whole tire thing. I get that the AWD does not have staggered Rims and they are the same size front and back, but what size are stock rims, what can i get put on "regular size" 17" tires. I have seen some places say the AWD has 17x7.5 and other places say it has 17x8. I have seen some offset numbers range...5x100 and 5x114
what on earth fits and what does it mean? What is stock and will give near stock feel? please have pity and help. can i use eiter 17x7.5 or 17.8 with normal size tires? i just don't get it.

underline = wheel bolt pattern (types)
for the 2is awd:
wheel size = 17 x 8 (per lexus.com)
bolt pattern = 5 x 114.3
center hub size = 60.1 mm
correct-sized tires for 2is awd = 225/45/17
note:
225 = sectional width - inner sidewall to outer sidewall ("225" = 225 mm)
45 = aspect ratio of sidewall height to cross-sectional width (think percentages, i.e. "45" = 45% of sectional width = 101.25 mm)
17 = wheel size fitment (think inches, i.e. "17" = 17" wheels)
hope this helps. thanks for reading.

To expand on project's post a little bit and to answer your tire questions a little more in-depth, the tire size is merely well the size of the tire. Aside from the 17", you can technically put a variety of size tires on your stock wheels. For example if you ran a 215-45-17 tire, you'd have a small tire in width and a shorter sidewall. I'm sure this might confuse you just a bit.

Head onto that site and put in 225-45-17 for your stock tire and play with the new tires sizes and you can get a visual comparison of the differences and what happens. Hope that helps.

you can also try:
http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp
note that you should not only stay within tires that will actually fit your wheels but also with a tire size with a tire diameter that is within 3% of its oem size so as not to throw off your speedometer/odometer.
