Arrow IS250 or IS350

Guys, I'm planning on buying an IS but i'm not sure which of the 2 styles is a better car to hook it up. example like the SC300 and the SC400 everyone prefers the 300 because it's easier to make it turbo.
Which one would be a better buy?

Thanks

IS350 if you want the power. People find the is250 very slow.

there are no easy power upgrade paths for the 2IS, at all~ so... if you like speed and can afford it, 350. If you like going show then get a 250, cuz the money not spent on the 350 can be used for mods like air suspension.

Neither the IS250 nor the IS350 can be modded to make more power. If you want to get an IS250 or IS350, plan on having stock power/acceleration. There is literally nothing you can do to make the cars faster.

There are no mainstream turbos or superchargers for either cars.

One thing you can do, however, is add nitrous, but I wouldn't recommend it.

If you want a car similar to the IS250 or IS350 that has tremendous (relative) mod potential (400 whp+) then look at the 335i. "Tuning" (increasing the boost pressure) on the 335i will, however, decrease the life of the engine, and it's not at all clear by how much because modded 335i's have not been around for that long.

Both are identical, except the is350 have bigger brakes.

Not sure about suspension.

Between the 250 and 350, it all counts on your budget since you shouldn't buy what you can't afford. For a new car, you can save a good amount of money by sticking with the 250, and if you are mainly into suspension and bodykits, you can easily buy all those accessories by not buying the 350. Buying a used car, I can't see a reason to buy a 250 unless it was dirt cheap because you can get a used 350 for considerably less than new. Personally, I bought a used CPO 350 because I need/want the speed, and I'd shoot myself in the face if I bought the 100 less HP 250 for a few thousand less.

if your planning on spending money on like body kit, exhaust, coilovers, etc...then get the 250 and have some money left over for that stuff.
But yeah if you want to go fast then get the 350 =]

See I was the exact opposite. I was looking for a specific color/interior combo. I found a GFM IS250 with black interior and a GFM IS350 with gray interior. They both had the same package, around the same mileage and I think they were was a 1000.00 difference. I ended up getting the IS250. i couldn't justify getting the gray. I'm just not a fan of lighter interior colors.

Most would sacrifice interior color for speed, but I just wanted something nice to drive around.

Only reason to buy a IS250, besides being cheaper, is for MT. However the IS MT is not the best.

Sounds like a pretty good price to me, assuming the car is in good shape.

Like everyone else is saying, get the 350 if you want to go fast.

I think if you have to ask the question, go 350. But you should test drive both. Just don't take our word for it.

Ps. I bought a brand new 250, 2 years later got a 350. Wish I had got it right the first time.

I have a 250 right now and I wish I got a 350. I'm going to probably get one next summer, after 3 years owning my 250. Then I shall drive the 350 until it dies.

I have the 350 and am currently driving the 250 as a loaner. If you test drive both, I am sure you will go for the 350.
