Probably because 6000k gives the best light next to OEM 4300k.
The higher the value, the less light is emitted.
6000k is the nicest for me, as it is not yellowish and still very bright (Ultra white color)
After 6000k, you start getting into the blue's. While it might look nice, it is not as bright.

^ Yup. 4150K is the OEM HID color, and it's a warm white and emits the most usable light. 5000K is probably closest to pure white but sacrifices a bit of the usable light. 6000K has a slight hint of blue, kind of like a cool white, and sacrifices even more brightness. 8000K really starts to get blue and the usable light starts to drop off dramatically. The choice is yours.
