Sorry about reviving an old thread, but my 2007 RX 350 just started doing the same thing in the past week. My wife turned on the A/C for a moment while I was in the house, and when I came out, I turned that off, then cranked the car. As soon as I cranked it, that was the first time. It's been in the 80s for temps lately, so not exactly cold, but I wonder if the A/C could have cooled some part off more (I would expect it to heat the engine up rather than cool it off, and then that would cause the noise because of a quick temp change??

Tonight, on way to grocery store, we heard the same thing before leaving the driveway. The car hadn't been run for I guess 2 or 3 hours. After leaving the store after a quick visit to pick up a couple items, it did not make the same noise at all.

For any TSIB or recall listings since it was there, but it doesn't list the RX 350 at all.. or at least just now when I tried.
