I've been looking at new IS 250 - there just 3 left at the dealership. The MSRP is about $36k (no navi, 18" wheels + spoiler) and he's willing to go to about $30k + TTL. Only problem is that the interior is black and I absolutely HATE black interiors.
In any case, is that a great deal or not?

Yup, I don't care for the color. Looks like I'll have to wait a long time as the 2010s are gone and I think I'll be hard pressed to see a good deal on a 2011.

Negotiate lower man... tell them that it's about the same price as a 2011.
Dude... I paid 30,888K for my 2010 (BEFORE 2011 came into the picture.) It's almost 2011 and they still have 2010 on the lot. They should've been gone already...
I remember last year, people where paying 26K for current year (2009) model when the next year (2010) were out. This is Brand Spanking New. Your dealer is trying to rip you off man. Tell your dealer you want a 2011 for that price. 2010 should be sold for below invoice now that the 2011 is out.

It does have the premium package. Not sure about HID. Also has 18" wheels and a spoiler.
I personally don't like dark interiors too much. But more importantly, I live in TX and the black leather will REALLY get hot most of the year.
This is why I don't know if I want to play the game or not. I've contacted another dealer about 90 miles away to see what they have.

Yeah, you're right. $27.5k was a low ball because the guy kept on harping about such an amazing deal. If I can get it $30k OTD, that's pretty good I think.

Try the dealer again in a week, tell them that your offer of $27.5k still stands. At that time, they'll probably tell you "come buy it for $28.5" or something like that.
I had a similar experience recently. I was looking at a 2010 IS250 with Nav + Luxury package (MSRP $41.5k). It was a demo with only 1,300 miles. The manager of the dealership drove it for a while, it wasn't a test-drive car.
So, at that time, I could get this car for $37k with zero miles, according to online sources. The $3,000 rebate did not exist then. The dealer was asking $36.9k for the demo. I offered them $32k. The guy's first comment was "for $32k I'll buy it myself". I said fine, call me if anything changes.
Every week or two, I would get a call from him with a lower number. In about a month, the price had dropped to $33.5k, but I had already bought another car and wasn't interested. I'm sure if I had countered with $32.5-33k, they would have said yes.
So, give it some time, and things will go in your favor. Good luck!

1) $30K is an absolute steal
2) I highly doubt brand new IS250s sold for $26K. That's ridiculous.
and
3) If the dealers are giving such great deals on brand new prior year ISx50s, maybe you (jones1950) should consider looking at an IS350? It'll be ~$4k-6k more for a whole lot more power. Be sure to test drive the IS350 before you make up your mind with the IS250.
