Here is a pic with one headlight with eyelids and one without it so you can see the difference. i really like the agressive look with the eyelid. with out it it looks scared lol.
Besides the look one major reason for the eyelids is to protect the headlight from fading, anyone with an 06 IS will start seeing their headlights starting to fade on top this will prevent that from happening.

looks I can understand, but the purpose to prevent fading... it would be an uneven fade with a line in it then..
