I know that would apply to rental cars due to insurance issues but in this case, it's not really fair. It's not his fault the car was recalled and not his fault there were issues resulting from that. If he can provide proof of insurance I think that should be sufficient, unless the car is not registered to his name.

cars registered to me and its 21 to get a loaner in CA, i had to be at school this week and its not in the same city so i got a ride to school after they tolled my car to my house, the next day i called the dealer from school so i wont be getting a loaner till i go back home tomorrow
