Dude, i give you MAJOR props man, nice job! i seriously want to do this soon (well, not ME personally but i have connections with a great body/shop), i will also check the other websites you mentioned. Im ALWAYS on copart and have also went to a copart yard close to me and have seen some great deals.
also i wanted to ask, how long did it take to complete the repairs on the car?
This one, 6 months. I'm currenting going though Medical school, I don't wan to do this for the rest of my life. So I could only work on it during the occational weekend I had free. My shop is in Detroit ad school is in Chicago so it was tough going back and forth. Typically it takes 2-3 weeks depending on the damage.

It's not a clip on, it's just vinyl. I got it through a buddy who owns a vinyl shop. I have a ton left over if you want your stuff wrapped.
So it's not like a hard plastic it's a cloth like???
Well real CF is a fabric that has a epoxy layer over it which makes it hard. This stuff looks like real carbon fibers without the epoxy harding over it. Its actual raised like real carbon fiber but comes in a huge sheet of vinyl so you prep what ever you want to put it on and then peel the back off and with a heating gun you streach and stick it on.
EDIT: I honestly like that way the vinyl comes out because its skin tight to the under surface and looks more like real CF, the plastic overlay is a digital print out so when you look at it while sitting in the car it doesn't look like CF. And the overlay is so thick it doesn't look natural.

I saved about $17k, as posted by the above poster total cost was just under $10k. The thing I like the most is that its paid for.
