Default Help!!

So i brought my 2006 IS 350 for the valve spring recall and also for an oil change and i got a call today. They sent me some pictures, and told me that my water pump is leaking "contaminants", hence the pink stuff. And to fix it they're charging $700. Can you guys help me out and tell me if it looks normal and if they're just trying to rip me off. Thanks, here are the pics

Looks there is coolant coming from below the water pump.. I would call some local shops or possibly another dealer to confirm that price is legit. Seems a little high for a non-timing belt driven water pump. Also there may be some overlapping labor they should consider if they are already taking the whole top end of the motor apart. Not really sure on that since the water pump is on the front of the motor, but it's worth asking.
I had a water pump leak after 22k miles on my old 02 IS300, seems to happen sometimes but mine was taken care of under warranty. I'm assuming you are no longer under warranty...

do u see coolant level going down ever? if not, then it cannot be coolant leak, at least nothing that will kill u.

my recommendation: tell the dealer I will come back later for that fix. Take the car and watch it for a few days. Keep some coolant handy, just in case it really gets bad.
