"Check VSC" 07 IS250 AWD
the CEL light and check VSC warning came on this morning. I drove it around town and it runs fine. I did some research on here and some say to retighten the gas cap. Will that instantly fix the problem if thats all it is? Or do I need to drive around for a bit? Also some say unplug the battery or reset the ECU. But isnt that method just a quick fix? I know when my VW had a CEL I could unplug the battery. The CEL would go off only to come back days later. So the actual problem isnt fixed. I dont want to do damage to my car. Anyone have experience with this?

I recently came across the check VSC warning too... BUT.. it was due to accidentally ripping the ABS speed sensor (i think that's what's it called) wire out of sensor itself in the front passengers location during a coilover install. Now i gotta replace it - anyone know how much a new one cost?? But been driving with the VSC warning light for the past few days with no problems.
I read somewhere else that someone had their vsc light + cel come on due to their car misfiring or an O2 sensor gone bad. Notice any diving issues or random nosies from the engine? Head up to autozone or somewhere and get them to scan it to see whats up. Goodluck

Yes, you do... or you can pull the fuse for the ECU to clear it and then see if it comes back or not. (but this'll also reset all the learning the ECU has done to this point... it'll relearn after a while but might drive a little odd initially as it'll be reset to defaults)
