You are mistaken. The 2011 headlamps have an LED strip across the bottom, not a reflector strip. And those LEDs are very bright.

If you buy the 2011 headlights and mention Club Lexus, you get a significant discount. Plus, Sewell is offering something like $500 back if you send them your old lights.

Those lights are a waste of money. The new Chrysler's even have them. They're sick on actual Audi's. But, I prefer to have the "old" lights and look like a Lexus. No offence to the 2011 owners, the new ones look good when they're sorted with the new bumpers and all. I'd rather spend 3k on mods to make my car actually look unique.

My 2c...

As I mentioned earlier, the headlamps are NOT $3000. If you provide your Club Lexus name with Sewell, the lights are $2160. And they give a $500 credit for your old lights. That's only about $1600 total.

I have a 2009 IS350 and plan on getting them. My opinion is that most of the upper end cars now have LED DRLs, including Mercedes. They're spreading across the Lexus line, too, from the LS to the new CT. The "Lexus look" of the future will be LEDs. Even BMW appears to have them coming up on their new coupe. My current DRLs look like any other average car (I complained about that on my owner's survey to Lexus two years ago), and I am eager to switch to the 2011 lights. I don't think $1600 is too much to differentiate my car from a Honda/Toyota/Ford/Chevy/Buick/etc.

Again, just my opinion. I realize everybody thinks differently.

I thought in pics it looked horrid but I have now seen them up close and personal at night and they are SUPERB. I love the added LEDs on the IS.

$1600 isn't SO bad, but I'd rather sell my headlights for $1000 then get a $500 credit on them. I wish I could sell my headlights with the entire AFS setup to cover these.

Default Finding the kit

VaisTech offers the led strip for $99, but you have to glue it to the outside of the headlight. However, when the unit is turned on, you wouldn't know the difference. My worries is what it does to the look of the car, while it's off. I need to find something that can go inside the headlight. (which means putting the headlight into the oven, and taking it apart) Or finding someone who sells the whole headlight with led strip, for less than 2000

I've seen a guy with the strip on the bottom of the headlight on the outside. It looks like ***** during the day, but AWESOME at night. Best bet is to figure out a way to put the strip on the inside. It still wouldnt be as nice as the oem 2011's, but prob pretty nice anyway
