The IS250 died on me.......
Hey guys,
I was searching the forum to see if it happened to anybody else with a similar experience. I got in the car, just as I pressed the start button the car's dashboard lights (no check engine lights) and outer lights were on for literally less than a second on and it seemed like there was a total power cut off. Nothing would work after that. I checked the fuses, they seemed fine, tried to jump it, no sign of life either. it is as if the battery is completely dead which I highly suspect, I thought it could be the steering wheel lock malfunction that the lexus manual suggested but my steering is not locked. Anybody might have any idea what it could be? It's baffled me that there is no sign whatsoever, the blinkers and horn, tested everything, but no hope. I had to resort using the regular key to lock/unlock the car.
If anybody has any insight what it could be I would appreciate it, all I hope is that it's not the computer. My is 250 is an '06 awd. Thanks beforehand

yea if the horn doesnt work then I would imagine its the battery. Im surprised that it didnt start after you tried to jump it. Our car's electronics are pretty hard on the battery and I see a lot of forum members, as well as myself, have had to change the battery after 4-5 years. So your right in the ballpark of when to change the battery.

yea well if there is a bad connection on the terminal to the battery then it wont show any life. Have someone sit in the car and wiggle the terminals on the battery and see if any lights come on
