i got rear ended half year ago
all the damage i got was the plate screw mark and the plate frame dealer telephone number printed on my bumper....

I got about $420 from the girls insurance company and the shop fixed it
i was hoping to get a new bumper but the damage was so small........ lol

No one said to pocket his money. You could even tell him to give you less than what it would actually cost to fix the damage. I see it as he's taking actions for his responsibility. If you and him are that great of friends then why not just let him slide. I however think that by him giving something for his accident will make it more of a mutual respect in the long run and no grudges will be hold down the line. What ever you guys decide to do, best wishes.

You can get a new rear bumper from sewell for $270.88...seems pretty cheap and all you would have to do is get it painted and then put it on yourself...should cost of total of under $500...

^ +1. A rear bumper is only $264.90 with the CL discount. That's way cheap for an IS bumper. Haha, front bumpers are even cheaper. An 09-10 GFX front lip is almost twice as much as the whole bumper.

However, the damage is so minimal that you could probably just have your original bumper re-painted...
