Headlamp Lens Removal
I'm going to need to open my headlamp for blacking out. From what I know so far, in order to open the lens I must pre-heat oven until temperature reaches 200F. Once the oven indicates that 200F is the temperature inside the oven, I turn off the oven and stick the headlamp inside. I am not sure for how long? can anyone clarify?
Then pry the glue off.
How do I put the lens back on once I am done?
Will the wires and bulbs not burn or damage?
Then pry the glue off.

nope there is wires inside the headlamp itself. i've taken the headlamp off and and disconnected the main connector that goes to the headlamp, but there are wires inside the headlamp unit itself.

it's okay.
if you bake it, they won't burn.
I blacked out my headlight.
if you have heat gun, i think it'll work better when you're putting it back together because there will be glue on the lense and the headlight itself, so you use a heatgun and melt the glue on the headlight unit, and then put the lense back on and press down and hold it down. If you're paranoid that it might leak and cause condensation, you can put some silicone around it as well. It's not as good if you bake the headlight to put it back together because there's two pieces and glue on both pieces, so unless you can bake them both at the same time, i think heatgun is faster in that case.
that's just based on my experience after doing it and how i would go at it the next time I have to black out my headlights again, so take it with a grain of salt, and do it at your own risk

No chemicals should be released. You may have a slight odor, but when I did my Subaru lights a few years back it left a smell but my lasagna tasted just as good. Good Luck.
Also, since we don't really have a DIY on this for a 2nd Gen you might take pictures of your steps for others to follow...

make sure u put them on some wood and not directly on the metal grates in the oven...some kind of hard wood..not pine...maybe the wires he is talking about are the OEM ballast..I think they are under the lights, they do not need to be attached to the lights when you attempt this
