Got my car back from the valve spring recall last wednesday. The 2nd time I started my car there was a very loud grinding/cranking sound from engine compartment. It hasn't been heard again since, but that worried me. The other problem I have is every time after I drive my car around, after I step out of the car I smell a very bad burnt plastic smell. Can't smell it when I'm in the car, only when i step out of it. Not sure if it's from engine, or under the car itself. Does not seem to be going away... Anyone else have similar problems?

smell is the engine cleaner they used I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it goes away after a week or so.

Could be oil residue burning off from the results of the repair.

I have had the same problem, my is350 is back in the shop for the 3rd time, its oil that is leaking. I am glad I am getting the 500 buck gift card because this recall is becoming a pain.
