Check engine - VSC - cylinder missfire?
So I changed my oil yesterday(i doubt that had anything to do with it) and today when I started my car the check engine light was on with the vsc warning message in the middle and also the traction warning light. when I went to the auto parts store and hooked it up to the computer it said cylinder misfire...we cleared it to see if it will come up again. what do u guys think should I be worried?
Update 12/22/10
So i did the carbon treatment to the engine and also switched the spark plug from cylinder one to cylinder six to see if that was the problem. The lights went away until today. The VSC warning message appeared, and check engine and traction control lights were on. I hooked the car up to the computer again and now it said cylinder one missfire, and random multiple cylinders missfire....do you guys have any ideas what might be wrong?

not reallie, i have read in these forums that the carbon build up issue in the IS250 (not sure if it's an issue in the IS350) is a design flaw. basically, it will keep coming back. it did for me.

I had it happen to me as well, about four times in a year period starting last December, second time when I changed the oil later that month. For me it always gave a cylinder 1 misfire reading and it would disappear after 4-5 times of starting the car. It's annoying but doesn't seem to affect performance. I changed the spark plugs, checked the coil packs, checked compression and everything was fine. I think it's from the spark plug getting fouled by a bit of oil when the car is started. For me, the misfire code stopped coming up after I did a BG109 during the oil change and a BG44K. Now that the cold weather has come again, the code reappeared this week again.

If you are sure that its not the spart plugs worn off then I had the same case. The problem was in "ignition spool" or whatever this device is called in english engineering slang. Its a device that makes the spark plug generate the spark, one on each cylinder.
Techstream or Intelligenttester2 should tell you which cylinder has misfire. I had the proper spool replaced and the problem was gone (spark plugs were changed recently so it wasn't the source of problem)

hehe)) if you didnt check it before that should be it. One of mine died at 100 000 kms (i think it was on 2nd engine cylinder but can be any of them)
