Does anyone have a perspective on whether Platinum or CPO warranty is better? From perspective of someone about to buy a pre-owned 2 year old car.

CPO is better in my opinion. I think its almost better than the new car warranty haha. and if you get warranty, you'll qualify for the $500 GC

I think the dealer has to certified the car first in order to get the CPO warranty .....?

pretty sure you can not get the CPO without the dealer certifying it. The platinum is just as good.

Hi all this thread is just what I have been looking for. My question is for anyone in canada that has bought a factory extended warranty. My four year bumper to bumper is about to expire. So can anyone tell me what they got and how much they paid for a extended warranty here in th north? Thanks

thats good information for people to know. a lot of people assume when they buy a 7yr/100k that it adds that to the factory warranty which is incorrect. a 7yr/100k extended warranty adds 3yrs/50k to the factory warranty, hence the word extended

Yes even I got mine from Jerry and he's the cheapest as compared to Troy. I have a 07' IS350 with about 22k miles so I got a 8yr/75k miles for $1415.

FYI, for anyone wondering about extended warranty prices for IS350 offered by Jerry, then here they are:
6 YEAR 70,000 MILES $830.00,
6 YEAR 100,000 MILES $1,275.00
6 YEARS 125,000 MILES $1,750.00

7 YEARS 75,000 MILES $1,255.00,
7 YEAR 100,000 MILES $1,615.00
7 YEARS 125,000 MILES $2,190.00

8 YEAR 75,000 MILES $1,415.00
8 YEARS 100,000 MILES $1,960.00
8 YEARS 125,000 MILES $2,775.00

Actually I think it can be out of the 4/50. I have an 06 with 21,000 miles out of warranty and Lexus of Alexandria (Lindsay Lexus), offered an ADDITIONAL 4/50 for 1,700. Full bumper to bumper warranty. The lady said it was basically the equivalent (or exactly) the same as the full factory warranty.

To start out, I had read this thread a few weeks back and saw how Jerry Johnson was mentioned from Midwest Toyota/Midwest Superstore quoting some outstanding prices for an extended warranty. I had previously went to my local Lexus Dealership in Northern California (Lexus of Roseville) and was quoted for a 7 year/70K mile warranty $1,399.00 for 2007 IS250. I gave Jerry an email and he was incredibly prompt to respond to me. He quoted me for the same exact FACTORY Lexus Warranty $733.00. So you do the math... Give Jerry a call, HE IS THE BEST!!!

Call this guy:

Thanks Jerry again for your help.

Im wondering if I could buy mine from him and then still take my car into lexus of tampa bay for my service/warranty repairs.

Has anyone tried buying the warranty from someone else...in another state?

Would it matter?

Well the standard Lexus warranty is 4 years/50,000 miles.

The mileage is easy to check, just check your odo, if your over 50k your out of warranty. If your under 50k, check the vehicle in service date (i believe its on the label on the drivers door) and see if its been 48 months since then, if its been less than 48 months, your still under warranty

If its not on the door, you can just call Lexus or your dealer with your VIN and ask.

Standard warranty should be 48 months/50,000 miles.

Unless you have some other sort of warranty? lol Even then i'd think the next available warranty would be 5 years/60K.
