hid brightness question.
i had owned a is300, and the 4300k hid light is much brighter. I could see the road really clearly, good visibility. however, now i got is250, and just upgraded to 5000k hid. the light from it isn't that as bright. my problem is that the visibility of the road that clearly enough. i am wondering is the projector of the car or i need to switch 4300k hid kit? or how to improve the visibility on the road?
my light isn't as bright as in person.... anyone could give me some advise?

Well, like I said the halogen projectors aren't as good as the OEM HID projectors. You also get a reduction in visible light going from 5000K to 4300K, particularly in the rain. Additionally, the 2IS has a poorly designed lowbeam assembly altogether, with the bulbs coming from the sides instead of the rear. Best bet would be to try and test out a 4300K HID bulb and see if it makes you happy.

just get rid of that 5000k rice crap and get a 4300k kit. I always get 4300k-4500k kits because they look OEM. If you want HID's for increased performance, then you should stick with oem. If you just want blue headlights, get some cheap $20 bulbs

cheap after market hid is worse than halogen, also projector headlamps only performs good with oem hid, any after market hid will just decrease the visibility, after market hid works better with none-projector headlamps.

If you're asking if switching from 3000K to 5000K fogs would increase visibility, the answer is not really, especially in rain where the yellow contrast is helpful.
Are you saying aftermarket HIDs work better in reflector housings over projector ones? That seems counter-intuitive...

I had IS300 before for sure the factory HID reflector headlight give you better foreground light on the road than projector, and also the 2nd IS the way they design projector is suck that why we don't get good light output even with OEM HID projector. that why it seem darker than your old IS, like other member said why don't you try to swap out to 4300K to see if you like it better?
