Mine pops really loud when it's pretty hot out but mostly when it's really cold outside. I took it in to have a tech look at it and he said it would just keep coming back. We bought it new in April of 06 and it's always done that. Oh well... It also pops when the ac/heat comes on or there's a dramatic temp drop while driving.

I took my '06 a few weeks ago to the dealership and they said it would cost just under $1000 just to take away the creaking in the dash. Sooo, instead I had a friend from Safelite autoglass install some kind of a long strip between the dash and windshield. No more sounds whatsoever from the dash!!!
Yes, I am under the 100k mile warrantee. And to imagine I would've paid over $900 for maybe a $10 fix... Hmmmm.... shows what a little research & patience can do for you.

Even thou my car is from a US dealership, Lexus Canada is going to fix the dash rattling under warranty. The reason is they are doing it is because they are aware that so many IS have this issue that they are going ahead and performing the work without the need of diagnosing the problem
This is where I was having issues with the US dealership where I needed to have them diagnose/replicate the issue (which is difficult) and I talked to corporate to escalate which did not help. When I happen to be up in Canada, I went to the dealership there and asked the service advisor, he simply said we can fix it since we are aware of this problem.

I had this fixed 3 times under warranty when I had my 07 is250awd. It went away everytime but came back next winter. I traded in the 07 a couple months ago for an IS350 fsport. New car but the same problem still remains.
