Default Sport pedal install

Need some help installing the sport pedals. I was watching the video that sewell put up that makes it look so easy and then I ran into a few problems. The first problem would be do I just rip the stock dead pedal off? It seems like it is pretty stuck on there and i didnt wanna pull to hard and break something. Second, did anyone else run into a problem when removing the bolts for the accelerator pedal? The first bolt was easy (bottom left), but the second bolt was way too high so I couldn't even get to it to remove it. In the video it seems like the bolt sits much lower but in my car the bolt sits much higher. Did anyone just put the accelerator pedal on without removing the whole set up like sewell? I have a 2010 if that makes anything different

just pull the dead pedal off as hard as you can. thats the only way to get it off. You need a joint adaptor for the gas pedal, took me about 30 minutes to do it

I don't remember the dead pedal being difficult. You grab the edges and pull hard.

Use a double elbowed/joint socket wrench to get to that annoying bolt behind the accelerator pedal, and be careful not to drop the bolt into that abyss. Unfortunately, you really need to remove it to do the pedal swap.

For the upper right bolt, I used a swivel socket with an extension to get the nut out. For the dead pedal, don't be afraid to pull it out. It's just plastic clips that holds it in place.

Ok dead pedal installed just ripped it out and popped the new one in much easier to pull out when I know that's what I'm really supposed to do lol Gonna go out and get a joint socket to do the gas pedal another day. For the time being my car will look retarded and have aluminum dead and brake pedals but the stock accelerator

I just installed my "sport pedal set" last weekend. I down loaded the PDF DIY file and followed the instructions. Took me about one hour to start to finnish.

You can use a 6 inch extension with a joint adapter to remove the upper right gas pedal nut. I found using a longer extension 10 inch was easier for me.

Once removed, use a "PIN" punch to remove the pin holding the old plastic gas pedal. I noticed a two different HOLE sizes at each end of the pin. Ensure you use the punch at the smaller end then install the new pin through the larger hole. This was the most time consuming step for me. Just make sure you use the correct size punch and hold it steady then swing away with a hammer. The pin is in fairly tight.

As for the DEAD rest pedal, just pull it up and out. The white plastic clips will stay on the floor board. You can either reuse and install the new Sport pedal or remove old white plastic clips by using a long needle nose pliers. I ended up removing them and installing the new ones that came with the new DEAD pedal. When removing the old ones, just grab it with your needle nose turn clockwise half way and pull it out.

I hope this helps good luck.

the 2 white locking tabs stayed on the car when i pulled off my dead pedal. I had to use needle nose pliers, chisel, and hammer to get them out.

The new one snapped right in afterwards!
