He said $1k to fix AND paint. Sounds about right for quality work.

Hopefully the price you paid saved enough to cover this.

i feel for you man.for the pieces that you have you can get them sanded down and repainted easily, for the broken tab areas any paint prepper can use a heat gun to fuse it back together.no worries man.

iTrader was one of my reference, all the feedbacks were positive. Maybe I jumped on it too fast....
As he stated "Excludes fixing the cracking and installation" so 1G a bit pricey

My bad. I read it too quickly. Agreed, $1k for paint alone is too much.

the damage appears to have been caused either during installation, (careless) daily driving, and/or removal - none of which can be pinned on the shipping company.

Also, I think this is far beyond exaggeratting, since he said the kit was only on the car for two weeks after its painted. Sure there might be some scracthes, but not like this.
you guys went to pick it up and saw the condition and still gave him the money? If I went to pick it up and it was nowhere in the condition he stated, I wouldve never gave him the money, that is like throwing money into the water

^^^ OP is in Canada, and seller is in S California. If he had saw them locally, he would definitely not jump on the gun. Sorry to hear that bro, hope you can get them fixed.

^in that case, you should file a complaint to see if you can get your money back
or you can go to beyond and the members there might be able to help you lke how they helped two CL members when they got scammed
