Default Poor Exhaust Install?

So I am pretty much a noob with modding and i installed a megan racing axle back exhaust and hand tightened everything. I herd some like shaking .I then got the invidia mid pipes installed by someone else and i hear some clanking sounds. I think i may not have tightened the axle back enough has anyone had a similar problem?

Check the bolts, and possible clearance issues with the exhaust and midpipe hitting against the chassis or sway bars.

Go under the car and see what the problem is first.

Re-using the OEM stock hangers would have been adequate. Like others have said, go look under the car to see whats wrong, loose, or out of place. Good luck.

exactly why you never have anyone but yourself install something as simple as an exhaust. aftermarket exhaust wont have 100% fitment. there will be some tweaks needed here and there to have satisfying results

You use your OEM hangers.

I'm blanking on the name of it right now, but there's a little piece that almost looks like cardboard that goes in the space between your exhaust and midpipe, where it bolts together. If it's not there, you'll have metal hitting metal, which could be causing that sound.

The main bolt should also be tightened with a torque wrench, but I doubt it's causing that sound.

That thin cardboard like piece between the pipes is called a gasket. It's mean purpose is to prevent leaks. In this case, exhaust leaks. :-)

Can you tell us what sound? Clank, thud, scraping, ticking ?

A missing gasket will NOT make any metal rattle sounds. It would cause a slight exhaust leak, but that's it.
