The folks who make TPMS sensors recommend using the rebuild kit anytime your tires are removed/remounted from the rims.
For a normal driver who is replacing tires every 3-5 years it's fairly cheap insurance to follow this suggestion...
If you're paying to have them switched every 5k (which I think is nuts, a competent alignment shop can adjust your toe and fix your problem) then you'd probably want to try and get away with reusing them a time or two.

TPMS rebuild kit is just the fittings, and that would only be necessary if they take the sensors off, which sounds like they won't. Just do the tire swap.

Recently had my tires swapped left to right at ~20k when I got new wheels, inside was pretty much bald. I'm only dropped on H&R Springs. I'm waiting for the FIGS front arms.

i plan to use my the TPMS sensors in my Stockies and have my tire shop move then onto my summer rims, would i need them to use a rebuild kit? the shop didnt mention any need for it....
