the snorkel is attached to the bottom of your intake box. It snakes itself back up to above the radiator support. I cant remember if its above or below those plastic covers they put on the engine bays these days.

In any case, dont remove it if you want to retain power. It'll just let hot air into your intake tract. If you remove it, it will sound 'growlier' (i just invented that word) but I wouldnt.

 

Oh my goodness that last one sounds awful!!

 

Although the sound may be pleasing to remove it, you shouldnt do that. I have the fujita and it sounds really nice under heavy acceleration, although the short rams have been debated thoroughly and consensus really says they dont work as well as stock intakes. Personally, i like the sound, and my gas mileage has not decreased, if anything it has gotten better.

I suggest finding someone with an intake (assuming you dont currently have one) and giving it a listen. If mine was any louder it would be too much.
