Question F-Sport Rear Sway...harsher ride???

I posted this in the "Official F-Sport Sway Bar Thread", but got no replies. I did a search but can't find an answer...if you find one please feel free to point me in the right direction.

I have an IS350 and from what I am reading the rear F-sport sway bar does wonders on the 350 as far as body lean and cornering, and doesnt effect the car when going over bumps that hit both rear wheels at the same time. But how much worse does it make the ride when going over bumps on one side of the car. I'm thinking about getting this but I dont want the ride of the car to get worse just to make the handling a little better. Please help me out....

more stiff and less body roll. i guess you can somewhat call it a little more harsh, but its not bad at all

you asked how much worse does it ride when going over bumps on one side of the car. 1) you rarely go over bumps on one side of the car. 2) it's a horizontal bar that stiffens the ride or more rigid during cornering or lateral movement. It has nothing to do with shock travel or spring compression. You don't even know you have the bar on (I have the set) until you take a turn at a higher rate of speed or cornering. It does a great job for what it's designed for. Check the Sewell website ( in vendor section) for a Club Lexus discount. Hope this helps.

I concur with what everyone said. The pros FAR outweigh the cons for this mod.

I have both front and back and I notice a stiffer ride but definitely a much better feel for the road compared to the stock sways.

Well I ordered the Rear Sway Bar and the steering dampner today from sewell. they will be here tomorrow and I will put them...I hope it makes as big of a difference in handling as I think it will and not hurt the ride much...here in texas we have alot of uneven roads...but once again thank you guys for your thoughts and opinions...

Haha I travel the US as part of my job and Texas has better roads if you stay in the big cities, but if you get out of that the roads are horrible. Oh well doesnt matter anymore, im gonna have fun with these...

You'll have fun on on ramp turns and try and find a windy road.

My birthday is in less than a week and I told my wife I wanted front and rear f-sport sway bars for my '08 IS 350. I bought the car new almost 2 years ago and really should have gotten these earlier. I Was planning on finding a good ebay auction but if it's not much cheaper than buying new from sewell, I'll tell my wife to just get from them.

a steering dampner pretty much makes the steering wheel feel heavier. its good at higher speeds so the steering wheel doesnt shake as much. its a matter of preference though.
