The guy who installed my tint told me that he wanted to make sure that mine was the kind that did not interfere with any of the sensors. He said that it contained no ---- oh man, I forgot the word. Geeze. Sorry.

But yes, he said it would mess up the compass in the mirror and other sensors.

if you have navi and other things that the tint will interfere with, than you should go with ceramic tint. cost more, but wont mess with any of the electronics in the car.

my IS has metallic tint. it does NOT mess with tpms.
tpms frequency has to go through your wheels, about 1/8 in thick, then the doors, then through the dash to the ecu. a piece of tint isn't thicker than all i mentioned. tinters are just covering their behinds when they tell you no guarantees. or making a sales pitch.
BTW metallic tint did not mess with my smart key system, or AM radio. i do not have nav.

+1 for ceramic tint...I have no issues with my ceramic tint, and they did warn about metallic tint possibly causing interference with items on the car...
