I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say it's normal? Cold weather can kill your mileage. I went from 54mpg to 43mpg in a Prius in a week.

All right some more info for you guys. And see if this is normal. I drive my car in a 4 by 3 island. Maybe 10 miles a day. 4 or 5 red lights between my house and work. No highway unless i drive up the keys and go to miami. But in this last month i havent used the highway at all. The Display shows that im doing 13.4 mpg. Almost right. This month is being cold . 47 to 60 max. Please help. Im going to take pics and attatch them here. Another question? How does everybodys engine sound. Do u here a clicking noise all the time? Not knocking clicking. Im a mechanic and i dont think is normal but the dealer said all of them sound like that.

When I had my IS, my tank average was regularly around 13 mpg. That was in incredibly dense San Francisco traffic, driving about twelve miles per day, and rarely exceeding 15-20 mph or 3000 RPM.

On the rare occasions that I did freeway driving, it would go up to around 29-30 mpg, so I always figured the IS just didn't "enjoy" crawling through traffic.

If your in traffic the mileage will suck big time. I drive 10 miles to work 1/2 city and highway and get about 22. You might want to try driving it in snow mode and see if that helps the mileage.

The click is normal it is caused by the direct-injection fuel injectors.

I would pump the tires 2lbs above what lexus recommnds. that will help a mile or 2 more.

There's nothing wrong. 10 miles a day? The engine isn't even getting warmed up fully - I guarantee you the oil is not getting to temperature for sure - so you're getting an engine running mostly open loop cold cycle and the mileage you're seeing reflects it. A 2IS needs to run for at least 20 minutes in traffic (not idling, under load) to get the oil up to temperature.

It's really rare that I say this, but you're a good candidate for the 3,000 mile oil change because your driving pattern doesn't support longer intervals.

Totally agree with lobuxracer. Your mileage will be horrendous if you only make short trips, especially in winter because the engine runs very rich on startup to warm up.

You've never pressed the "Mode" button on the steering wheel? Seriously? It cycles through temperature, tank and average MPG, range, gear display, and others.

Lots of factors like weight, temp, environment, tire pressure blah blah blah just to reiterate what everyone's saying. 6 months is pretty new. How many miles are you at, your engine may not have broken in completely yet. My 350 was getting a consistent 15mpg until I hit around 10K on the clock. Now I get 22mpg mixed driving. Just some food for though.
