close enough.

I fully expect him to mail me the title (with his signature) and have it in my hand by thursday (2 days for them to mail it to him and then him to send it to me UPS ground, which will be overnight) at the latest. If that doesn't happen my families lawyer will take over.
To save time I'd have the lawyers start working on this Monday morning. This is not going to end well.

Meh, while he did prove he's not a true friend.....I'll give him the chance to make it right.

This is an entertaining thread... I read through the whole thing. Plenty of drama and action going on for 2011. Good luck to you...

From the photo, I doubt the repo will find it.

yea ok, lol. And then the nice man will just leave.

The bank says what goes. You can show your bill of sale and they wont care. If the lien has not been satisfied, the car goes. End of the story. If the seller blew the $ you gave him on red in vegas, then your SOL. Thats why you when you buy a used car with a lien on it, you make sure your check is written directly to the bank that the lien is with, and not to the seller.

So far I've kept my attitude in check - with the goal of getting the title. Once the title is in my hands, he is dead to me.

Let's hope your "friend" doesn't read this thread.

I agree with evitzee - this is not going to end well. You've already lost a friend over this (albeit a loser of a friend).

This story reminds me of the guy who got scammed $40k over in the IS-F section.

Either way, very entertaining, i cant even tell where i stand on this one, except it sounds like a poor decision.

I thought about that too. But trust me, he WILL get his 40k back. The victim is going about it the right way and I cannot elaborate because I promised, but the scammer will NOT get away with this.

Well today is Monday and I'm hoping for the best on this. Crossing fingers that you can get a hold of Lexus and make sure the funds were received and the repo is suspended.

If lexus was open on Friday it wouldn't have been as bad.

As it stands, whoever said that they bet I wouldn't be getting the car today... well you are

CORRECT!

haha, damnit.

Well - kind of.

He called LEXUS - and of course the checks aren't going to be "processed" today.

They told him that if he paid the amount owed (I guess three months) they would take it out of repo today. He's going to do it after work. Sent via western union.

Then when the checks clear, they will send the amount back that is over (his 3 payments).

I responded with some anger and he thanked me for my patience.

On a side note, the car needs new pads.. so it's going to the shop later tonight and will be fixed tomorrow. I'm going to call lexus after work and see what the deal is.
