Default Got my DRL's disabled today!

I hated the yellowish look of my DRLs so I got them disabled today at the dealership. They said it was free part of the personal settings on the phone but when I got there, they said it's only for cars under 1,000 miles for their first time. They quoted me $59 and I said okay to that. Later, the mechanic drives my car back to me and I still see the DRLs!! He said he didn't know of how or if there was a way to have the DRLs disabled due to safety reasons. But I complained to him saying there IS a way to do it and he said he'll try it again. He ended up finding it under the "Light Control" options and disabled them for free since he said he already told the service adviser he couldn't disable them.

So I guess that worked out for me pretty well. No pictures cause there's really nothing to show since the lights are disabled.

Well, I tried that already but didn't work out all that much. I tried installing 8500k halogens for the high beams but since the DRL's only run on partial power, the bulb doesn't actually reach the color it's suppose to. Most xenon or halogen bulbs will end up being yellowish when used as the DRL. The LED ones I'm not going to try, they cost $60 and I'll need something to stop it from flickering, not to mention, they might be weak when used as high beams.

^ Yeah, LED DRL's are almost entirely useless as high beams. They light up when your high beams would, but put almost no light on the road. However, your high beams aren't entirely lost in that case since your low beams are still bi-xenon.

I disabled my DRLs and got a pair of V-Line LED strips from Vaistech.com. It looks awesome - I can't tell you how many compliments I've received

As far as installation goes, get it done by a professional. The control wire has to be wired in with the ignition and that gets tricky.

I've always wanted to change the DRL to LED but I need the high beam for driving out of town occasionally so I guess I'm gonna do the same as you, disable it:P Ima use HID foglight as my DRL haha

Please don't post wrong information. The DRL on our cars are the high beam bulbs at a low wattage output.

If you don't beleive me turn on your car plant your face in front of your headlight/DRL and have some one turn on the high beams.....then tell me what you see.

Uhhhh, what are you talking about? The DRL is your high beam. They are the same 9005 bulb, DRLs just run at reduced power, causing them to appear yellow. With OEM HID you do get bi-xenon though.
