Default I'm Jinxed

I swear my car is jinxed. Since I bought it in September 2009 T- Pearl AWD, I have had;

1. 3 Rock chips, 1 as soon as I left the dealer and hit the interstate.

2. A blown rear tire that had 10 thousand miles on it….replacement tire was $250! Screw it, I changed them all to Kumho’s for $500

3. Backed into a damn tree and scratched my rear fender…yea I have back up camera but the tree was off to the side and it was snowing like crap.

4. Door ding from some jerk

5. Master control panel would not let down the passenger window (Twice had this issue)….had to lean over to do it.

6. Instrument panel flickers in any temp below 20 degrees

7. GPS has me a block away from POI….but it insist that I’m at my destination

8. This god awful wind noise from the passenger side of the windshield...I guess it helps to explain the excessive use of my defogger. Taking it to Lexus for a look over in three days.

My 2006 Smokey IS250 never gave me problems….but I had to go trade it in for AWD for Utah winter months…..regrets.

Did you disconnect your battery? When you lose power (by disconnecting a battery for instance) you have to "reset" the window switches by rolling them all the way down, then all the way up (and holding it until you hear a little click). Until you do that, they won't work from the driver's side panel.

7. GPS has me a block away from POI….but it insist that I’m at my destination
There's a TSIB for that. Although unless you have an extended warranty or CPO the dealership won't fix it for free, in which case an updated nav disc will also solve your problem.

As far as rock chips, **** happens. The soft, environmentally-friendly Lexus paint doesn't help the cause though.

If you think you're bad... my car got hit after 2 weeks of buying it brand new. It took 3 weeks to replace my door and get the paint right.

Then a few weeks ago, some cop thinks I'm a high roller and slaps me for a red light violation ticket for running a yellow light that turned red split second. The ticket costs over $400 which blows my mod fund for the rest of this year.

I got hit by a deer after a week of owning my car. It doesn't look as bad as it sounds, but still lol

Is this a different TSB than the one that would show you car way off from where you were at (like driving in a field or lake)?

I notice too that 'you have arrived at your destination' comes from the lady in the dash, but the 'destination' is still a bit down the road..Same thing with..'take next left' for example..you are right on top of the 'next left' and can't react in time. I have an 06 and did the 'driving in a field or lake' TSB and also upgraded to the 08 disc (or maybe 09).

^ Well my nav always tells me I have arrived when it's still maybe 500 feet away, not sure that's a bug though. The slow reaction time sounds like something unrelated to the TSIB.

So you were mentioning the TSIB that had the car waayyy off from reality and not something new?

Yeah, same TSIB. What he's experiencing sounds like a firmware problem, so performing the TSIB would be my first step to solving it.

My car sits in the garage when it rains, It's feeling underutilized.

I blew my front tire with less than 2000 miles on the odometer. It also tore up the rim.
