Both mine are out. They turn on at start up, but eventually turn off. Turning off and on again does the trick temporarily.

What set of bulbs do you guys recommend?

Wow, I didn't think my bulbs were going to go out anytime soon... My car is right around the age that most people in here seem to be at (07 with 46K), so I guess I can expect them to go out soon.

I hate to sound like a broke record, but where can I get these cheaper bulbs so many people are talking about? I've seen it mentioned a few times, but nothing too specific.

Check the vendors/classifieds forum and eBay. Bulb size is D4S.

Like a lot of others here, my driver's side is turning off. It has happened twice thus far and it appears to happen after the lights are turned on for a while then turned off for a couple of minutes, then back on, like when stopping to fill up with gas. That is what happened tonight when I stopped to get gas on the way home from work. My 07 GS350 has just over 60k on the odo. Looks like I need to start looking for replacement bulbs.

Just checked retrofitsource's website. Looks like they do not sell D4S bulbs for my GS350. Off to look on eBay.

Passenger side light went off today. It turns on for a second but then goes off. After a long time, it stays on but very dim. Autozone guy said this is a ballast issue and not the bulb. I have an '06 IS350 with 43K miles and extended warranty. Any idea if it is covered under extended warranty?

Never had this happen on my '06 350 or my '08 IS F. Sorry, but it isn't common at all.

The car is going into Lexus on Wednesday for recall work, hopefully this issue gets taken care of under warranty also.

Just got the car back today. They replaced the drivers side bulb, and a whole new passenger side assembly because of condensation, and all of it was included in the warranty work no questions asked. Recall work done also. They even filled the gas tank to full, so no complaints from me.

Any way you can diagnose bulb failure vs. ballast failure, before replacing parts?

You could swap bulbs. That's how I determined it was the ballast.

My problem ended up with a bad ballast. They tried to switch out the bulb. It went from a 300 fix to a 2k problem. Good thing for warranties.

85122 and 85122+ are d2s bulbs, the ISx50 uses d4s bulbs. You can find a new pair on ebay for about 80 bucks shipped.
