a lip on rotors is common. if theres a noticeable lip like you say, then they will probably not cut them as it will be too thin then. probably need new rotors.
Tip: Get what ever they say they will do to the car on the sales order. Once you sign and drive the car of the lot they will not do anything that they claim they would.
