Who needs AWD part 2 !! Pics and Fun Vid inside...

EEEEEK!! Ooo that vid got me nervous! I drove only ONCE in the snow....and that was in the Trans Am. I lost it big time, spun out like crazy almost hitting people! But here I think you did pretty darn good. I can feel your car a slippin' and a slidin'. I thought for sure you were going to hit that big rig on the side of the road. I was nervous when you were on the wrong side of the road!
And all this stress from the comfort of my own home!

On my first kinda-deep snow driving with the is350 rwd, sport suspension and regular dunlop's, I got stuck on a very small hill and I just couldn't get it to drive cause the traction control kept kicking-in, no matter how softly I pressed the gas, even with snow mode on, I had to be towed to a cleaner street.
Up-hill + snow is hell with stock setup, but now I know its better with traction control "off" and snow mode "off" for that situation, I've had to almost red-line it, and drift competition-like to keep momentum (the car even turned off by itself one time that I went 90 degrees sideways lol) for a moderately steep hill, and if you have to completely stop mid-hill, forget it, reverse and start from the bottom again lol.
So, I was traumatized with my first bad experience, but now I know that I can drive it in worse snow than I thought with regular tires! You're just gonna have to treat her a little rough, and have good maneuvering skills

You're allowed to have fun OP and it looks like you did!
The title of the post is what I'm talking about. There are DEF times that if you don't have AWD you get stuck no matter what. My house, when you try to leave the area, you MUST go up hills, not little ones, steep. I cannot tell you how many people get stuck over and over within view of where I'm typing. During the last blizzard we had a plow truck get stuck right on the side hill of my yard! It took FOUR other plows to get him out!
Everyone who is saying that you can do just as good as AWD in a RWD I really don't think has actually experienced real snow driving.
I assure you that in a RWD only car, you are going NO WHERE in this kind of snow..
Even in less snow like in the picture below I doubt you'd get anywhere with Just RWD. I know my camaro even with snow tires and traction control...wouldn't go anywhere..

Jmags, your forgetting one thing. Those pics you posted above are of snow so deep that ground clearance would prevent any small car from getting through it, unless it was AWD and acting as a plow. Give me a 2WD Pickup truck that has a 6" lift and I'd get through that as well.
PS: I used to have a 95 EB Black Bronco as well

There is no way you'd drive through those pics in 2 wheel drive. I barely made it through with 4wd.... :P
