Default 5000k vs 6000k

Hey guys, I own a 2006 Lexus IS250, and about to purchase my first mod, HIDs for the lows and fogs from Xenondepot. Probably looking at the Volt kit, but split between 5k and 6k. I emailed Steve and he suggests 5k, but if any of you have photos could you post them up? I'd like to have the light color similar to the new Cadillac Escalades and BMWs, although I understand their color is due to the prism or lens in their projectors. I want a predominately white color with a slight blue... I've searched forums for pictures, however many of the pictures don't show anymore. Thanks for the help!

6k will have more blue. It sounds like you would be happy with 5k. Both are good choices in my opinion.

5000K will have more light output. I had a noticeable loss of light when I switched my bulbs from the 4100K OEM Philips bulbs to 6000K Garax bulbs.

like everyone said, 6000k will look more blue while 5000k will be a mixture of white and blue. The higher the temperature of the bulbs, the lower the light output and visibility.

i got the d4s 6000k bulbs from steve. idk about the volt kit but my 6k bulbs, eventually lost its brightness over a year or so. id say there < 6k right now... i like the 6k color.... but like with everything, eventually wear n tear comes into play... but like i said, idk about HID kits, if their colors/brightness fades over time...

go for 6000K. it'll have the blue tint you're looking for. 5000K is pure white i believe.

i have 6000K lows and fogs. but because the lows have the projectors, it comes out a little more blue than the fogs. but some of the members here have managed to match the colors. i guess it just varies with different brands

I think you may be better off with 5000k. I ordered a 6000k kit from HIDeXtra for $40. It looks actually very blue in person. My friend installed a 5000k kit on his Integra from DDM Tuning. With the projectors on the ISX50's, a 5000k kit will probably look slightly more blue than in the pictures below.

6k = rice

I only use DDM 4500k kits, but 5k is the highest I'd go with

Hope this helps, but I think seeing it in person would be more helpful.
