Open up your toolkit that came with the car. Inside the center spine is a flap with two long pointed tools inside. Pull these out. Stick one in each hole on either side of where the clock/emergency button is. Push both in at a slight inward angle with some force, they go in deep, maybe a couple inches worth. This will pop off the face of the dash covering the Nav DVD. In the NAV menu system (can't remember exactly where) there is an "Eject NAV DVD" button. Do that and put in the new disk. Done!

I think if you try to use the updated NAV map for travel is a waste of money, but it is worth NO press AGREE BUTTON, I had map data 6.1 before and I used to travel to NC and the Lexus map route me 12hrs to the destination I was entered but the garmin it shown me 7h45 mins so I ended up using the garmin, while I was driving through the intersection, some of the road's not even shown up in my lexus display, it shown i am in the middle of somewhere. Anyway I thought it was the map? therefore I update my map to 10.1, but still samething when i went to NC again still drove through the route but display still shown I am in the middle of somewhere. In my opinion the updated map, just update addresses, POIs, ect... but it not update the route or roads, it still route me to the longer route

I took a 4 hour trip and inputted the destination in my car GPS. I know it only takes 4 hours as I've driven it many times but the car GPS shows 6.5 hours??? But on my Garmin it was 3.45 hours. But upon comparing the routes on both GPS's I realized they were nearly the identical routes. This lead me to believe that the Lexus GPS time to arrival is way off. This may have been your case too.

Did you setup the estimated travel time? If not, the estimation time will provide you with the estimation time based on the default values it is currently configured with.

The defaults are most likely to slow than what you drive and would need to be adjusted accordingly.

Default setting is currently set as follows:
Residential:
25 MPH

Main street:
35 MPH

Freeway:
55 MPH

For me, I adjusted mine but changed it to the KM readouts and configed it this way to give a better estimation.
Residential:
30 km/h

Main street:
60 km/h

Freeway:
100 km/h

Did you check the route options? Some choices can cause the nav to suggest some very out-of-the-way routes.

It's why I special ordered to avoid getting nav. That was the only way to get ML without paying $2500 (+200-300 a year for maps) more for mid-90s navigation technology my $150 Garmin with $79 lifetime map updates crushed in cost, portability, and features.
