Default 55w or 35w 6000k HID's for fogs?

2007 IS250.. want the fogs to match the headlights (or have a little bluer tint because I might go bluer on the stock HIDheadlights)

http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/Ap...Raptor-HID-Kit

question is which wattage to go?

Already have white LED's coming for the city lights... next on the list is LED's for Drl's (when i can get one that doesn't require drilling)

also- is this the best place to get them from? anyone have a different suggestion?

I've read all the threads about em, looking for updated info.

This LED DRL doesn't require drilling: http://www.v-leds.com/Vehicle-Specif...-p9371398.html

55W might be too high for the fog wiring, but I'll let someone else confirm that.

^ Yup, they're about a month old. I think I got the first set.

You can tuck the module and connectors entirely inside the moisture shield so it's totally plug and play. No drilling or relays.

Nice I ordered them with 15% off.

Any ddm-tuning codes around?

Looking to get 6k HID's for the fogs tonight!

Last question, I think you've answered this for me before. Stock HIDs = 5k right?

Stock HIDs are 4100k

I bought the exact kit from your link, 35w, 6000k. It matches my 6000k HIDs pretty well.

^ Stock HIDs are actually 4100K, not 4300K.

5000K is pretty much pure white, 6000K is white with a hint of blue. Pick one.

I picked 5k because I figured as they aged they'd go more blue Oh well bulbs are cheap right !?

^ Keep in mind when they start to colorshift blue they're nearing the end of their lifespan.

Depends what bulbs you get. Philips Ultinon can run $200+ a pair.

I have a number of DDM kits. Here's my experience

55W kits always wash out more of the color than 35W. Note that the factory HID is 35W. If you plan to run 55W, always use the external wiring harness as a precaution. I actually recommend it for 35W kits too because the startup draw is pretty significant at 6amps for factory wiring.

For the OEM foglights on the IS, I'd do 35W. Color matching will be difficult because of the different brands.

55W 5000K is pretty much pure white (Mazdaspeed3 Headlights)
55W 3000K looks slightly yellow when looking at it directly, but shines much more yellow on the ground. (Mazdaspeed3 foglights)
55W 6000K has a slight blue tint (NSX headlights)

35W 4500K has a slight blue tint (though I've read that DDM actually sends out 5000K bulbs for 4500K orders, but I don't know for certain). In any case, the 35w 4500K bulbs I had looked similar in color to the 55w 6000K bulbs.

Below is the 55W 6000K lowbeam (right) compared to the factory Halogen high beam (left)

so are you saying that if someone uses the 55w setup, it could burn the wiring and that it is better to use 35w for OEM fog lights. Im trying to get some bright yellow fogs for my Is as well.
