DIY - Bluetooth Music Streaming using A2DP
#61
Just for the record, the ground-loop isn't isolated (no pun intended) to using the bluetooth receiver, it is a problem with using the Aux jack while powering your device with the 12v outlet.
My Blackberry phone sounds great through the Aux jack, but if I plug in the power adapter at the same time the ground loop kicks in and sounds terrible.

This makes me really glad I got the group loop tsib right away. For those who have gotten this done, I will let you guys know it sounds amazing. I feel like I get more bass from the same songs compared to the factory ipod cable or cd's (call me crazy).

Question regarding how much noise is caused by the ground loop..
I have an 06 without the TSIB done. Didn't even know about it and now it's too late.
I just got the blackberry music gateway. I typically listen to my music at about 12-15 on my radio. When I use the music gateway (which is being charged by the outlet next to the aux), I can hear static and a whine when the volume is at about 18-20. This is when there is no music playing and I am driving.
When I play music from my iphone (volume on max on the phone), it's pretty loud, and pretty much drowns out any of the whining. I have to turn down the volume which basically reduces the noise to unnoticeable, especially when driving.
Is this the whine that you guys are referring to? Or is it suppose to be way worse than this? I never encountered problem before since I bought a Vaistech ipod receiver years ago.

I tried revving the engine and also drove around the block. I can hear the pitch go up and down as I accelerate, but to me it's not any different than when I'm at a stand still.
I wonder what the difference is. I did do the nav hack, and I had to ground a wire but I don't think that would affect things. I also have the viastech installed. Owell, I guess just leave it. It's not enough to really bother me in my case.

It will stream anything that is running on the bluetooth device you connect to it. Once the connection is made the device should reroute all sound to the puck and into your car speakers. When I'm waiting for food or something I fire up a movie or a game like street fighter on my iphone and feel the hits via bass

Just to further confirm.. It streams everything on the iPhone. Not sure about other phones. So the lock and unlock sounds also play through the speaker. This includes keyboard clicks and text message alerts I'm sure.
Not sure about the ringtone. I have it setup with the car Bluetooth so it plays the standard Lexus ringtone on the speakers when I get a call.

The 09+ that comes with bluetooth support should already support A2DP which wont require the BB gateway. If it does have the A2DP, then when you play music from the paired device, it should stream out of your car audio system
