Default thinking of trade in my '10 EVO X MR Touring for a '11 IS250

i recently changed job, now the long commute is really taking a toll on me and the EVO. i'm thinking of getting a '11 IS250. i'm always a fan of the current IS generation and figure the redesign one is not far away therefore i can get an awesome deal on the IS250 especially. how much in relate to invoice do you think i can get for a '11 IS250 with nav, auto and 18'' wheels? i'm in SoCal by the way. Thanks.

nah, the price difference is too much (about 5k), easier to find the color option combo on the IS250. my fast and furious days are over, just wanna get a entry luxury commute car.

think of a used 350. instead of a brand new 250 ... use the power when u need it. and the mpg are not that far off.

As far as price goes it all on how you can bargain with the salemen. Remember they want your money.

man, that's like going from boxers to briefs, the diff is gonna be night and day. Might be a little better if you jump into an IS350, but still....

I can understand if you're commuting long distance it would be a much better drive in the lexus. But If you own an EVO MR, you must be into handling and performance. You will definitely miss that going to a luxury car.

Why not keep the EVO and get a commuter car like a civic? Then you get to keep the EVO for the weekends and get great mpg in the beater.

Get a used 08/09 or 10 IS350 for the same (or less) price of an 11 IS250.

People not familiar with the brand usually think that the IS350 is a little bit faster than the IS250 and the ISF is a lot faster than the IS350. That's not the case.

The IS350 is a lot faster than the IS250, and the ISF is a little bit faster than the IS350 (and a WHOLE lot faster than the IS250, obviously).

You're paying $5k more for "a lot faster," not just a slight increase in performance.

And by faster I obviously mean acceleration, not top speed.

did some calculation, i won't be upside down, matter of fact my equity off the trade in is pretty good, because i got a killer deal on the EVO about 2k below invoice and EVO Xs are keeping their values pretty well.

Well it's all relative.

The IS250 is a fantastic car and it's much more powerful than the average car out there. That said, this guy is coming from an EVO X MR.

Info from Road and Track -->

EVO X MR 0 to 60 = 4.6 seconds 1/4 mile = 13.2 seconds @ 103.6 MPH

IS350 0 to 60 = 4.9 seconds 1/4 mile = 13.5 seconds @ 103 MPH

IS250 0 to 60 = 7.4 seconds 1/4 mile = 15.5 seconds @ 89.2 MPH
