Depends on the tread depth. This will help determine if this will affect your rear differential.

If it's 80 percent, you can probably get away with only replacing that one tire. Of course, for safety reasons, you should be careful if you do this. DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for any safety issues if you choose to do only that.

For the most part, the only safety issue is if the traction is drastically different between tires and it affects the handling of the car. For example, if only that tire maintains grip on a corner, instead of understeering, you may oversteer and spin out.

Depends if all 3 of them are about 80%. Best to get a tire gauge to get a more accurate reading. But if they are all about the same and the used one off ebay is close to 80% as well you will be fine. You can have a small difference without any problem. Would be a waste to get rid of 3 perfectly good tires.

exactly ^^ and im not in the best shape finance wise. so i would liek to save where i can. i hate to sound ignorant right now but i drove the car less than 9000 miles and the dealer replaced the tires when i bought them. being AWD i cant burnouts or anything retarded but i did drive the car hard occasionally.

I would either get an used tire that close to the existing 3 or just a new one if you have about 80% or above. Buying all 4 is a wast of money unless u r really loaded.

If it's about 80%, should be that bad. You could also get a 2 new tires put them on the back, and move the one that was no longer a pair as a new spare.
