Are Camber kits necessary? No, If you wanna buy tires 2 or 3 times a year. It really depends on your drop. I think anything more than 2 inches than yes

I'm no expert in slammed cars and tire problems, but to compensate for the negative camber, use Nitto's Neo Gen tires, they are made to resist wear from negative camber. I'm sure someone around uses or has used them, you should find out their results

Figs one can get from their website:
http://figsengineering.com/suspension.htm#arms

People will argue toe solely affects wear...some will argue camber solely affects wear...
The whole alignment affects tire wear.

Nitto's tend to be pricey, i have the Invo's. But a very quick glance at ebay shows around $8-900 for all four. But it appears some sizes like 255/30/19 arent offered by Nitto in this setup...

No way 2 to 3 times a year. I am dropped on coilovers with about a 2.3 inch drop. I drive the national average of 15k. My Hankook Ventus V12 last about 20k including taking it to the drag strip. As long as you got a solid alignment you should be fine.

The whole alignment affects tire wear.
Exactly true. If your camber is less than +/- 2.5, then improper toe is likely your larger problem. If your camber is greater than +/- 2.5, then camber needs to be reduced if you want decent tire wear.

The 2IS with stock ride height has wear issues, but they're correctable with toe adjustments.

Current fashion does not promote long lived tires which is one of the reasons (I'm certain) the General UHP is so popular. It's a really cheap tire available in "tuner" sizes. It is far from a great tire, and the only category where I'd call it good is price.

Even without a proper alignment you wouldn't go through 2-3 sets of tires per year. I do get a alignment every time I get new tires but it is still way out of specs. I really think if my alignment was better I could be squeezing 30k out of my tires.

actually for those of us who run vip stretch, the UHP is a very good for stretch applications, the sidewall isn't so stiff so it makes a lower profile and of all the people here in hawaii who run this tire i've only HEARD of one bubble incident vs the numerous Falken bubbles that appear here on CL.
