Cell Phones should be banned!!
Got rear ended this morning (bumper destroyed at least, but it was -20 so didn't look at it in detail yet) by a woman either texting or dialing on the phone.
Car had never been painted, wrecked or dented...ARGHHH
Luckily she was insured (I was in a bad neighborhood) and she already admitted fault so they will pay to get it fixed, but that isn't the point!

hate to hear about stuff like this. fortunately no one was injured. I agree about completely banning cell phones completely while driving, however, I am almost positive that there would still be people who would still use them. For example, talking on the cell phone without a bluetooth is illegal in california but I still see a bunch people holding their phones and talking away.

damn, that sucks to hear! people simply do not have their priorities in check. risking their own life and that of others cuz they cant pull over to do what they need to do with a call or text. hopefully the damage isn't too severe beyond the bumper. best of luck on the repairs.

Sorry To Hear About Your Accident
Sorry to hear about your accident. Fortunately, nobody was injured. Be aware though that you may lose resale $ quickly. I too was rear ended and had about $15,000 in damages. Fortunately, insurance covered it. When I got the car back (a 2006 Toyota Avalon), I knew the depreciation clock was ticking even faster. I immediately started car shopping. I eventually traded it for my '09 IS350 but only got $10,000 in trade, as opposed to the $17,500 they quoted 3 months earlier before the accident. I lost about 40% trade in value because the car had been rear ended.
