I would look used and save on the depreciation plus get more car for less $$ I used me trade as a downpayment. Trade value was around 14k. Financed the rest for 4 years.

The cost of depreciation is what you pay to have a car that you get to fart in the seat first. Money well spent, hah.

$5,000. I probably should have put less down since I have excellent credit and the LFS rates were very good, but whatever.

I am sorry, I forgot to mention that I bought an extended warranty and other stuff and my total price went from 22K before tax to almost 28 thousand. After 6.9 interest the price quickly went up to over 31 thousand dollars. I found out later that I paid an arm and a leg for the extended warranty. To be exact I paid 3,000 dollars. I know, I got ripped off. After I found out that I paid too much (thanks forum threads), I decided to return my warranty and I got 2700 dollars back plus 300 dollars from another useless add on. All in all, my price was close to 25,000 after tax and plus whatever the interest amount is. BTW, my loan is for 5 years.

damn they worked you man. the 22k-28k is weird though because that would mean you have a crazy high tax rate? It can't be higher then ours in NY right (8.625) ??? Because that would only be like $2100-$2700 total in tax?

Have you checked into the Lexus College Graduate program? I just bought my IS through the program. They have really good financing terms (0.9 @ 48 Mos or 2.9 @ 60 Mos when i bought my car) and you get some extra things like 90 days till first payment. I believe you can lease a 2011 IS without a down payment as well through the program.

I put $5k down on mine though I went for the 0.9% @ 48 Mos through their College Grad Program

Those ares nice rates. How long after you graduate are you allowed to participate? I couldn't find any info on the LFS website. I wanted to do that but I wonder if I don't count as a "recent graduate" anymore.

100% down, paid in full. Don't use credit to buy depreciating assets!
