Hi all. I read the oil change guides for both the 250 and 350. But when I looked under the engine, the pan right behind the cross member (what looked to be the oil pan) looks to be the front diff as it is connected to the front wheel shafts. The only other drain plug looks to be on the autotrans, but I thought that was supposed to be sealed, and it's really far from the oil filter. Confusing...
Also, I know some people don't use the oil drain plug for the filter, but I'd like to. When you unscrew the small bolt, will oil come out? Or will it only come out after you shove in the plastic plug? Just wanted to verify so there won't be any surprises.
Thanks!

I just changed the oil/filter on my AWD. After unscrewing the bolt from the filter, oil will leak out, so have a pan ready. Once you force the tap in, oil will then pour out quick for approx. 30secs max. The oil drain itself is the bolt that's angled in the area just below from where the filter is. It is 14mm bolt can't miss it. GL
Btw, keep the oil pan at somewhat of a distance as the oil will shoot out quick for the first 30secs.
