Never been changed according to records.

What is yellow in this car? I'm pretty sure it has blue wiper fluid......it'd be nice if that was it though.

I agree it sounds like coolant generically - however the spec'd coolant for our cars is Toyota Long Life Coolant (or called something like that) which is the red stuff. That said, I have heard bad things about long life coolant before, primarily GM's Dexcool, so using the green stuff may not be the worst thing, as long as you change it frequently enough.

I just point out the spec'd coolant is red in case you haven't had the coolant changed or flushed since it probably wouldn't be that in that case. Also, if it is the green coolant in your car, you need to change your coolant service interval from the manual.

The sure fire way to look is check the coolant level. the reservoir is in the front of the engine compartment under the front engine compartment cover if memory serves me correctly

The coolant in the ISX50 is SLL coolant (Super Long Life) and it is a clearish pink color...Toyota's previous LL coolant (Long Life) is a more cherry red color, which is NOT used in our cars...

The only fluid I can think of on your car that would be even close to a yellow color would be differential fluid...but it would only be kind of yellowish when brand new, and it is so thick it would not leave a little trickle...

Did you touch the fluid? Was it oily or just wet? Did you smell it? This will help us figure it out...

Nah I didn't. I just drove down my flat driveway (that one was a hill) and there are no yellow drips on it.....

However now I'm smelling a plastic burning smell from the vents only when the car is stopped at the end of a small trip (temp gauge is fine)
