Default How much to pay for a wrecked IS350?

Ok so according to my mechanic it will likely be cheaper to buy a wrecked IS from an auction and use it for spare parts then to buy the parts alone. So i went online and researched. Found this PERFECT donor. Same color and all the parts I need. I am just wondering if anyone here has had any experience dealing with an auction for wrecked cars, specially bidding live online? I am hopping to get it for under $1500 + transport fees. Is that a realistic number? Here are some pics of my car and the donor. Any info would be appreciated.

As you can see I can use all the parts I need save money on having to paint if i were to buy new parts and I could even make a few bucks back by selling the wheels and maybe even other parts.

I think it'll go for $5000-$6000. I haven't seen any wrecked ISx50 go for $1500 or less.

No way you will ever get that IS for 1500 even in that condition. Time for a new mechanic.

Yea seriously doubt you'll get it that cheap. That theory may be true for old model cars not right now for the IS though.

My mechanic did not tell me it would be cheaper. Sorry for miss representing him. He told me it was an option for me to look into. How much do you guys think a xis like that would sell for?

Also wouldn't luck play a bit into it?

It won't go for $1500. There are business that make their money off buying cars like these and selling off the parts. There's way more than $1500 worth of parts left in that car, im sure it will sell for over $5000 easy at auction once, usually different parts companies will get into a little bidding war over cars like these.

$1500 dude? Really? LOL

Think about the interior, motor, tranny, entire front end, rims and tires, etc...

I'm saying 6k-8k.

Put it this way. Someone here bought theirs with a smashed up front for 9k. It had all the upgraded name brand mods too.
