You shouldn't trade it in for that. NYC has had record breaking snow and i only got stuck once with general exclaim uhp tires and when that happen i took out my shovel and i was out on my way asap. This car is too much fun in the summer or any time when there isn't now to trade it in for that.

So does a 65yr old lady in an camry so that doesn't prove much. Plow truck are there to plow snow not speed past everyone.

Did some research and was like, "Wow, 0-60 in 5.6" and called the dealer for the test drive and brought it. Now, the prices on the 335xi came down and a few dealers can trade for the IS350 with similar miles and same year. I would totally trade considering how badly this car does in snow and only get 15.5 MPG in my daily driving but the reliability of the 335xi concerns me. Lots of people complain about fuel pump issues and those cost hundreds in repairs, I'm starting college next year so that's an issue considering how reliable this Lexus has been so far. But again, the 335xi is all wheel drive and with three simple mods, it can reach 400HP easily.
A lot of bimmer owners like to keep the cars in low miles, and in within the warranty period. Once that warranty goes out, repairs will be frequent and expensive. I like toyota/lexus because of the quality and the ability to actually drive the car, even outside the warranty period, without any major issues. If you want a reliable car, stick with what you have. I'm not sure if you're used to RWD, but if your not, then 4 months of having this car isn't enough to get used to driving in the snow. I know it took me some time to get used to. If you're really pressed for it, consider getting a winter beater with FWD/AWD, or a toyota/lexus that is FWD/AWD.

Be safe out there everyone!

we've gotten almost 60 inches so far this season, I have ALL Seasons on 20" rims with 30 series tires and I haven't gotten stuck once. And I've taken the car to PA, MA and Upstate NY snowboarding 5 times so far. If it's not your blizzaks, then it sounds like you just need to learn how to drive. You can't stop in snow and then expect to just start going again. You have to keep it moving. IDK man, I dont mean any offense by my post but idk what else to say.

Last visit to the dealer, the mechanic and I were talking about traction on this thing and he said I'm going to get little since my trunk is empty and the rear wheels are too wide for a light car. It's not my tires cause they are Blizzak LM-25Vs with 7/32 tread remaining. Now, that I got in my garage, I can't get out now with the 3 feet of snow in front of my garage and throughout the ally.

How does your RWD IS350 do in snow, for those who have one?
Your mechanic is an idiot. Tire width has *nothing* to do with having no traction in the snow - in fact, a wider tier is better. Why do you think Offroad vehicles have large tires and run low pressure? More tire in contact w/ ground = better traction.

Also, the car isn't that light, it weighs over 3,500 lbs.

Also, from the pic it looks like you are trying to back in whilst going up a slope? It's no wonder you aren't making it. Rear wheel drive cars aren't meant to do that.

Infra sorry your wrong narrow tires do give you better traction in the "snow". If you live were it snow all the time it's a know fact. Reason why I run 225-45 and not the 255-40-18. Read this link here http://m.motortrend.com/womt/112_990...ity/index.html

I moved from an '05.5 Audi A4 to a Lex under almost identical circumstances. Wanted the 335i but could not reach the price tag and the Lex stunned me with its power and quite ride.
The Audi taught me quickly about the constant euro repair problems and I hated the half dozen check engine lights I had to deal with, not to mention the two roadside stranding (one out of state) in the two years I owned it.

Funny how now that I have something fast and reliable I find myself cruising Audi and BMW lots remembering how nice the Audi drove in comparison to the Lex (at least when it wasn't in the shop.)
I've also had 3 AWD cars before the Lex, and do miss it in the snow... Makes a big difference as I actually looked forward to snow to go have fun in!

My saving grace on the A4 was a bumper to bumper extended warranty with $0 deductible, which I would not hesitate to buy if I went with a BMW either!
