Factory De-badging on the 2011 IS?
Maybe I'm imagining things, but didn't the IS used to have a "Lexus" badge at the rear end on the left side, just above the bumper? I was looking at my car today and realized there's no badge there. Only the "L" at the midpoint of the trunk and the "IS350" at the lower right. Maybe it's just a slight change on the 2011 that differentiates the model year and enables Lexus to save a tiny bit in manufacturing costs? Or maybe the badge gnomes sneaked into my garage, ripped it off my car, filled, sanded and repainted it while I was asleep last night

Other countries such as those in Europe still have the LEXUS badge I think.
I think it looks clean without the LEXUS badge and I'm sure a good amount of people know what the oval with the L in the middle stands for. It might take some getting used to for some though.

Lexus Champion
After 20+ years in the US and being the top selling luxury brand for the last decade the Lexus 'L' badge is well known. It's probably as well known as the BMW 'propeller' or the MB 'tri star' emblem. There really isn't any need to continue putting 'Lexus' on the trunk. I call it a maturing of the brand image. Good riddance.

Same goes for Toyota, they have eliminated the word "Toyota" from almost all of their cars in North America now as well. They spent a long time developing their brand image, I guess they feel people now recognize their logos and no longer need the name on the car. They're right.
