rumors are flying about the redesign. i hope the current design holds on for one more year, maybe they will, otherwise why did the facelift for the 2011s. but from previous cycle the 1IS were from 2001 - 2005 6 year cycle, if this holds true then 2011 indeed is the last model year for this design. any comments?

from what i heard new model wont come out till end of 2012 aka it will be considered the 2013 model

The 2012 model will definitely look identical to the 2011. Lexus wouldn't waste their money redesigning the IS for a year.

There should be a 2012 model then it moves to the new model for 2013.

they also just spent alot of money on the ISC design, I wouldnt be surprised if they push back a completely new model. Maybe they will just keep doing subtle changes like the RX line. from the RX300-350 changes were not all that crazy with the biggest jump being from 03 to 04.

Bear in mind the first gen actually ran from 1998-2005.

They just didn't import them to the US till 2001.

(plus all the other reasons others have given)
