Default Oil Filter Access Plastic cover

Hey guys, so i have the 06 AWD 250. Awhile back i ran over something and noticed that the plastic cover under the car that blocks access to the oil filter area broke off. At the time i didnt think it was a big deal, but today looking under my hood i saw what looks like dirty residue, probably water and whatever is on the streets, on the engine cover and surround areas close to the radiator. Looking down into that area you can see all the way down to the ground where the Access cover should have been. is this going to be a problem? Is water flying up into the engine and hiting the hoses, radiator and possibly some of the belts a problem? Thanks for any advice.

Buy the part just for preventing more dirt coming in. The more dirt the worse it will be later.
It should be a very inexpensive part.

I think is this part#

51447B PROTECTOR, OIL PAN $44.09

Technically it shouldn't hurt anything. Most older/less expensive cars do not have any type of plates underneath. It is a relatively cheap part though so I would just go ahead and pick up a replacement. It will help keep the engine bay area cleaner.
